Exhibition 35m3 young architecture
From 2005 to 2008 deSingel and the Flemish Architecture Institute jointly programme the ‘35m3 young architecture’ exhibition series for three seasons. The title refers to the space (283 × 408 × 303 cm) in which the current production or the paper vision of a new generation of architects is presented.
Young promising architects are challenged to be creative with the limitations of this exhibition space. By means of one or more realisations, a statement, a vision, a theoretical reflection, an installation, etc., they portray their motives, their approach and their practice.
For 35m3, ‘the building as illusion’ is the theme of an installation. Mirrors and coloured walls suggest an exhibition space with seventeen rooms, a virtual circuit that leads to some of our projects.
4 mirrors (2 times 186×248cm/2 times 142×248cm)
plasterboard walls and sliding door
painted floor, black felt pen
4 shades of grey for walls
2 fluorescent lights
