The project concerns the new construction of a closed facility as pilot project including the accommodation of offices for youth care Emmaüs. The building is located along an approach road to the city and in a future allotment of family homes.
The building is composed of various readable volumes in order to achieve a scale that corresponds closely to the future planned residential area. The appearance of ‘dwelling’ is also in line with the vision of how the building should function and its residential function.
Two dwellings are planned for 6 young people each. The split-level principle ensures a domestic openness, a good relationship between living rooms and bedrooms and an optimal overview, essential for ensuring safety. Both houses have direct contact with the garden.
Centrally located in the building are the administration offices for the staff of Emmaüs, who accompany the young people in the institution and in their home and school environment.
