The location of the closed institution is far away from the urban home environment of most young people. They are isolated in an agricultural environment, which contrasts with the intended reintegration into society. The design aims to nuance the remote nature of the site and create a configuration that introduces elements of familiar urban life. This translates into the spatial relationship between housing and public buildings and a certain presence of street-related life. People go to school, to work, to home, to the library, to the gym, to the shop. These functions with recognisable public access are housed in the former Succursale, the existing building on the site.
The residences themselves live together in group and stand in direct relation to the central square. Inside, an attempt is made to create a dwelling that approximates the traditional family situation, taking into account the stringent safety requirements that apply here.
